Program Objectives

Pat Lakatta has spent 25 years working with children and adults to cultivated a love of music, movement and learning.

The main objectives of Pat's programs are, among others are:

To encourage musical and rhythmic readiness (competency) by exposing children to basic elements of music( melody, rhythm, dynamics) and movement which provide a medium for self-expression through the Arts.

To provide musical ideas through which children can express their own feelings and experiences in an atmosphere of fun, familiarity and participation with friends.

To encourage children to experiment with familiar objects for use as musical instruments and to explore sound possibilities in their immediate environment.

To provide rhythmic movement, promote eye-hand coordination, improve posture, develop poise, promote physical well being.

To help children clarify impressions of their environment, broaden interest in music, movement , art, drama, science ,vocabulary through musical concepts and dramatic play; lengthen attention span through songs, dances, games and listening.

To encourage children to engage in imaginative thinking through music and movement, encourage participation rather than passiveness, enable children to explore their abilities and develop them to the fullest potential, encourage self expression.
